Great idea, but it doesn't work for me |

I bought these paddles to help correct a low-elbows habit I had fallen into. They did help me, but I don't tend to use them much for these reasons:
1. The paddles are narrow and flat. I tend to subconsiously wrap my thumb and pinkie around the edges. My coach pointed this out to me, but it was such a natural thing to do with these paddles that I ended up focusing on my finger position and not on high elbows or whatever the main point of the pull set was.
2. I had the narrow straps on my paddles, but I understand that wider straps are available now. My straps would loosen while I swam, which tended to make me more inclined to grip the paddle with my fingers.
3. The pointy ends were kind of intimidating to my lane mates. They did not want to get poked.
So if you have average-to-small hands and brave lane-mates, these may be the paddles for you. Otherwise, you might be better served with different paddles combined with sets that require you to focus on high elbows.
