Riblets on the surface of the fabric create the effect of water moving over water by reducing vortices typically created on smooth bodies moving through the water, thus improving glide. This has been achieved with a minimum of water absorption reducing excess water weight or ballast. The technology is used for the predominant fabric in a Powerskin Xtreme suit.
